Drug dealers from Gravesend and
Medway will have to pay back more than £200,000 of their
ill-gotten gains.
The group
of four, jailed for drug offences in August for a
total of 11 years and three months, will have the cash clawed back
under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
Christian Bennett, of Malvina
Avenue, Gravesend, was
sentenced to four years’ imprisonment
and must pay back £21,434. At the time of his arrest £1,170 was
seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act and formed part of the
confiscation proceedings.
Phillipa Jackson, of Waterdales,
Northfleet will serve 15 months and must repay £43,333.
Larisa Wild, of Thalia Court,
Gravesend, was sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment and
must repay
£43,900.
Peter Glisson, of Allington
Drive, Strood, was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment and must
repay £105,960. His home was repossessed and his assets, including
a Rolex watch and his vehicle, were seized.
Detective sergeant Karl Thomas
said: "North Kent's drugs team is committed to taking drug dealers
off the street and making sure those who deal in drugs lose all
the money they make from drug
dealing.
"We are happy with this result
and will continue to work with the community to rid north Kent of
these criminals. I am pleased the money has been removed from
criminal circulation."
