Gravesend Messenger out now

Gravesend Messenger, November 25

Your great value, award winning Gravesend Messenger is out now, full of local news, pictures and sport.

This week we've got an EXCLUSIVE on an investigation into staff misery at Gravesend school and more than 50 complaints about working conditions.

We've got a special report on a crisis centre for rape victims, which has been dubbed "woefully inadequate".

And a shopkeeper has spoken of the terrifying moment a broken bottle was held against his face by a teenager robbing his store.

We've also got pictures and reaction from a packed procession which celebrated the opening of Gravesend's new Gurdwara temple - the largest outside India.

Inside this week there's the chance to win a FREE Christmas goody bag (just pay postage and packaging), tickets to Bluewater's Winter Wonderland, and balloon flight gift packages.

Your What's On pages, including a seven-day TV guide, are also inside, along with your Home and Leisure and Kent Homes supplements.

Our sports pages have all the latest on the borough's teams and there are dozens of jobs if you're looking for work.

All this in the latest Gravesend Messenger – pop out and pick up a copy today.

The chances of a thorough investigation by KCC into the unprofessional management style at this school, I fear, is slight. If KCC can ignore a concern raised by a staff member regarding a nasty sexual innuendo 'game' carried out during a school assembly at this school by two senior male members of staff, they can ignore anything. Why are they reluctant to act? Who knows? Don't blame the management team though. All the time KCC is sending out the message that this appalling behaviour is acceptable they will carry on doing it.
