Pensioner robbed in early hours
Police are appealing for
witnesses after a pensioner was robbed of £800 at his house in
Northfleet.
Officers were called after
5.30am on Friday, January 18 to Johnson Close, where it was
reported a 79-year-old man had his wallet stolen by a man who it’s
believed forced his way into the house.
The home owner answered a knock
at the door at about 5.10am from a man who asked if he was
alone.
The elderly man tried to close
the door but it’s reported the suspect barged it open and then held
him by the wrists so he couldn’t move.
It’s reported the offender
called out to another man to come into the property, who only came
to the door and didn’t speak.
The man suspect already in the
house then reached into the man’s pocket and took his
wallet.
The pensioner was left with
bruising to his wrists.
The two then ran off in the
direction of an alley way, which leads to Dean Holm
Road.
The first man has been described
as mixed race, in his late 20s and was wearing a hooded top with
the hood up.
The second man, who did not
enter the property, was wearing blue jeans and a blue sports
jacket.
