Gravesend girl becomes Page 3 idol

Mellisa Clarke from GravesendFrom serving customers frozen prawns in Iceland, Mellisa Clarke has been crowned the winner of Page 3 Idol.

The former Gravesend supermarket worker says she plans to bring an "edgy" look to the famous topless red top page and made her debut appearance last Friday.

The delighted 21-year-old - whose slim 32C, size eight figure was voted the winner by readers - told the Gravesend Messenger: "It’s a bit weird to know that I’ve won, I really didn’t think it would happen.

"I’ve been modelling now for about two and a half years but this is the pinnacle really and something I never expected."

Mellisa, a former St John’s school pupil, was one of thousands of wannabes who entered the annual contest.

Past winners have included Nicola T, Keeley, and Lucy Collett.

There’s a full interview with Mellisa in this week’s Messenger out tomorrow.
