Bean there, done that

Jude Iles, 8, of Northumberland Road, Istead Rise, in a bath of beans for Comic Relief.

Beanz meanz tearz as a little boy, who hates the tomato-sauce flavoured ‘treat’, sat in a bath full of his most detested food for Comic Relief.

Istead Rise Primary School pupil Jude Iles, eight, of Northumberland Road, Istead Rise, has already raised about £500 after bathing in 200 cans of beans.

On Saturday he faced his fear. Mum Emma said: “We had a look on the Comic Relief website and he said ‘yeah, I’ll do the bath full of beans’.

“He thought it would be funny, but come Saturday, the house stank of beans and I think he wished he’d picked something else.

“He was gagging at the smell and put one foot in and said he couldn’t do it. He started to cry and the photographer was downstairs waiting to come and take his picture.

“I whipped off my clothes and got in with a t-shirt on and then after that he agreed to get in, a bit hesitantly, he did the full hour, bless him.”
