Pair cut free from car after crash closes A2 coast-bound between M25 and Bean Interchange near Dartford
Emergency services were called to the A2 after a crash
Three people have been taken to hospital after a two-car smash collision on the A2 near Dartford this morning.
Police, ambulance and fire crews were called to the coast-bound carriageway, between the M25 and B255 Bean Interchange junctions, at just after 10am.
Hydraulic cutting equipment was used to free a man and woman from their car.
One casualty was taken to Darent Valley Hospital, while the other two were taken to Medway Maritime.
A Kent Police spokesman said their injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
All three lanes were blocked and there was a report of a fuel spill.
Two lanes were reopened by 11.30am, but congestion was stretching back to Dartford Heath.
The Highways Agency earlier said a diversion was set up via the M25, M20 and A229.
Motorists were advised to take extra care on the county's roads today because of the wet and windy weather.
