There will be displays from visual artists and brothers Nick and Dave Whiteoak, who also hail from our town, and are fresh from drum and bass DJ Skrillex’s world tour.
Topping the bill is two-time UK beat box champion Reeps One, a celebrated vocal artist who has played with British dance group Prodigy.
Club night organiser Tom Packman hopes that displaying talent from the area may inspire people in the crowd to follow a similar path.
He said: “When I was under 18 if I’d thought there were cool people in the area that could I could look up to, it would’ve been nice.”
The Woodville was previously the venue for one of the area’s most popular under-18s events, Massive nights on Friday evenings.
Mr Packman, who also promotes Laughing Boy Comedy at the Woodville, is hoping Refrsh will kick-start a new scene for under-18s in the town.
He said: “It was important to us that we created a fun and inclusive night for under-18s but we didn’t want to be patronising.
“The line-up doesn’t consist of artists we, as adults, thought that under-18s would like. These are the sort of acts we know they enjoy.”
Mr Packman hopes this is just the start for Refrsh with big plans for the future.
He said: “If everything goes well we want to expand Refrsh and start other events like a comedy night or other gigs staged at the Woodville.”
