Kent Police car crumpled after smash in Valley Drive in Gravesend near KFC with another vehicle and pedestrian
A mother has told how her son had to jump over a wall to avoid being hit by a police car in a dramatic crash in Gravesend today.
Evelyn Dalton said the 14-year-old pedestrian was left "very shaken" after his ordeal in Valley Drive this afternoon.
Officers were responding to an emergency call that people were trapped in a fire when the patrol car was involved in a smash with another vehicle near KFC.

Kent Police said a pedestrian was also involved in the incident, at about 11.50am, and an investigation is under way.
The boy's mother Evelyn said had to jump to safety over a nearby wall.

She said: "He's very shaken. All he has is a tiny cut to his finger when he jumped the wall.
"Very proud of my son for thinking and acting so quickly."
A spokesman for the force said the driver of the other vehicle has been taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The police officer suffered minor injuries, but did not require hospital treatment.
The road was closed in both directions at the junction with Winchester Crescent and St Aidens Way, causing delays on nearby roads.
Several police vehicles and at least one ambulance from South East Coast Ambulance Service were spotted at the scene.
A Kent Police spokesman said the Serious Collision Investigation Unit is examining the circumstances around the crash.

The officers were responding to a fire in a garage in St Francis Avenue, in Riverview Park, Gravesend.
Firefighters used breathing apparatus to put ou the blaze from about 11.35am.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service said it had no record of any one being trapped and said police were called to control traffic.
The garage, attached to a house, and its contents were destroyed by the fire.
