Two excellent goals from Calum Willock and a tremendous
goalline clearance by Yado Mambo helped Ebbsfleet move a step
nearer Blue Square Bet Premier survival on Tuesday.
Top scorer Willock, who took his season’s tally to 16, put Fleet
ahead four minutes before the break, but they were pegged back by
Louis Soares’ 46th-minute equaliser.
Another measured finish by Willock 13 minutes from time claimed
the points.
However, Mambo’s last-ditch clearance shaded Willock’s
goalscoring exploits as the best moment of the night.
With the game at 1-1, Julian Owusu was already wheeling away
celebrating when Mambo raced back to clear the ball off the line
via the crossbar on the hour.
Wycombe boss Gary Waddock, AFC Wimbledon’s Terry Brown and
Crystal Palace chief scout Steve Kember were among the watchers but
possible target Michael West limped off with back and hip
problems.
