Ebbsfleet United boss Liam Daish wants his side to be more solid in defence ahead of Macclesfield Town trip
by Steve Tervet
Ebbsfleet have been warned to cut out their
indifferent defending ahead of Saturday’s trip north to face
Macclesfield.

Manager Liam Daish (pictured) saw his
side overhaul a 2-0 deficit to beat Hyde last weekend, four days
after they came from behind twice to claim a point at Telford.
While those fightbacks encouraged Daish, he
knows the Fleet cannot keep relying on such escape acts.
He said: “There is plenty of spirit, we’ve
shown that but we can’t give ourselves such a mountain to climb
each time.
“We’ve got to be more resolute in those
situations. We’ve had a lot of travelling, but we need to be more in
control of situations from the start.
“We’ve got a long trip to Macclesfield and
we’ve got to be tight away from home to give ourselves a
platform.”
Victory at Macclesfield could lift Daish’s
side out of the relegation zone for the first time since early
September.
Phil Walsh could return from injury to play
some part in Cheshire but Moses Ashikodi (hamstring) is still a
doubt.
