Gravesham Fencing Club's Cameron Prior reaches quarter-final of national event

Four members of Gravesham Fencing Club were among 500-plus youngsters who competed in the Great Britain Cadet (under-17) and Junior (under-20) National Championships at Gillingham over the weekend.

The best performance from the club came from Cameron Prior (pictured), who reached the quarter-finals

of the Cadet Men’s Epee before losing 15-11 to Harrison Nichols from Redhill & Reigate Epee Club.

The Snellin sisters, Holly and Lucy, were also in action in the Cadet category. Holly, 15, finished 50th in the Women’s Epee and Lucy, 13, was 34th in the Women’s Foil.

Gravesham Fencing Club had one representative in the Junior category, where Joe Joyner finished 22nd in the Men’s Epee.
