Loanee Josh Scott aims to fire Ebbsfleet United to Blue Square Bet Premier safety

By Steve Tervet
Loan striker Josh Scott has vowed to win back his place in the
Dagenham & Redbridge side by scoring the goals to keep
Ebbsfleet afloat in Blue Square Bet Premier.
The 27-year-old (pictured) agreed a one-month loan deal on
transfer deadline day and opened his Fleet account with a double in
Saturday’s 3-1 win at home to Gateshead.
That trebled Scott’s goal tally for the season. The striker
signed a new two-year contract with the Daggers in March 2012 but
injuries have made him an increasingly peripheral figure at
Victoria Road.
He said: "I’ve come here to get fit, get some goals and my
confidence back. I want to help the team get out of the precarious
position they’re in.
"I’m not finished. I had one good season (at Dagenham) and then
after that we went into League 1 and the problems started and
they’ve been continuous. I’m trying to stay injury-free,
incident-free, get some goals and my place back."
That one season was 2009-10, when Scott’s goals helped Dagenham
win promotion from League 2. However, a blood clot on a lung meant
he missed most of the following season, while his 2011-12 campaign
was hit by a knee injury.
He said: "It’s not been a good couple of years. Things have
happened off the field and then I’ve got injuries and illness
coupled with that so I’m trying to find my way again."
