Ebbsfleet United manager Liam Daish finding transfer progress a challenge

By Steve Tervet
Transfer dealings are proving a challenge for Liam Daish as the
Ebbsfleet manager gears up for a Sunday lunchtime date at
Woking.
However, the Fleet boss (pictured) has not given up on adding to
his squad during the January window, which still has three weeks to
run.
Daish said: "I’m going through my list of targets but it’s been
difficult to attract the player we need. The player has a say in
things as well. It’s difficult but it’s not for the want of
trying.
"The lads are doing the best they can and I’m trying to get help
for them regarding other players coming in but that’s been
difficult."
Ebbsfleet, without a win in their last six league games, travel
to Kingfield looking to beat the Cards on their own patch for the
second time this season.
Moses Ashikodi scored a late winner when the Fleet knocked
Woking out of the FA Cup in October but the striker will be absent
on Sunday.
Daish confirmed the 25-year-old will need a scan on his injured
knee, which has not healed as quickly as the club hoped. Ashikodi
has not played since the Fleet’s 4-1 defeat at Mansfield on
December 8.
Meanwhile, Daish is hoping his strikers can rediscover their
form in front of goal after missing several chances in last
weekend’s 1-1 draw with Lincoln.
The result left Ebbsfleet just a point off the bottom of Blue
Square Bet Premier. Woking sit 15th and they come into the game on
the back of a 3-1 win over Luton.
Sunday’s game kicks-off at 1pm.
