Ebbsfleet United boss Steve Brown critical of his players and the Stonebridge Road pitch after the Skrill South draw with Bath City
Ebbsfleet manager Steve Brown could not hide his frustration on Saturday after watching his side held to a third successive home draw.
Shane Huke headed the Fleet in front but Bath came back to snatch a point when Will Salmon scored against his old club.
The result leaves Brown still waiting for his first home league win as a manager.
He said: "I thought there was a lack of quality and I said that to the players. There were balls slicing out of the pitch, players making the wrong decisions pretty much all the time.
"When you want them to hold it up, they flick it; when you want them to flick it, they hold it up. The passing wasn’t very good.
"I thought the pitch was too sticky again. The ball doesn’t zip off the surface, it checks up and holds up all the time.
"We’ve got good players that can dribble the ball and it’s not helping them, to be honest."
Ebbsfleet looked positive once Huke's goal had gone in, but they were guilty of missing good chances late in the first half.
And their profligacy was duly punished in a second half which saw the home side - playing into a reasonably strong wind - offer virtually no attacking threat until late on.
On the Bath goal, Brown said: "It wasn’t one queueing up, it was two or three. If he hadn’t got it, I’m sure one of their other players would have popped it in the back of the net."
"They didn’t have the quality to break us down, set-pieces was going to be the only way. There was no ambition from Bath to win that game and yet they’ve come away with a 1-1. To them, that’s a great result.
"I’m disappointed and the players are disappointed. That’s two draws where we’ve walked in the dressing-room and they’re as bad as losses.
"The dressing-room is beside itself. I’m down.
"Those games have got to be wins. Once you take the lead in those games, that’s a clean sheet all day long for me and a 1-0 win. That’s something I’ve got to address."
Ebbsfleet's next game is away to Basingstoke Town on Saturday.
