Air ambulance lands in Memorial Park in Herne Bay after elderly woman in mobility scooter hit by car

An elderly woman on a mobility scooter has been hit by a car this afternoon as she crossed the road.

Police and ambulance crews were called to Kings Road, Herne Bay, after the accident at 2.20pm.

The air ambulance was also called and landed in nearby Memorial Park.

The woman suffered an ankle injury and was treated at the scene before being airlifted to the QEQM Hospital in Margate.
