Rose Inn knife incident Herne Bay man charged

Police have charged a man on suspicion of wielding a knife and affray in a town centre pub.

Officers were called to the Rose Inn in Mortimer Street in Herne Bay between 1.45am and 2.45am on New Year's Day after reports of a disturbance following new year celebrations.

They arrested 42-year-old Anthony Ridge, of Charles Street, with affray, possession of a knife, and criminal damage.

Now officers want any further witnesses to come forward and call the incident line on 01843 222289 and quote reference number 01-262.

Mr Ridge will appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday, January 30 to face the charges.
