Herne Bay: Man fights for life after reportedly jumping from scaffolding in Station Road

A man is fighting for his life in hospital after reportedly jumping from scaffolding in Herne Bay.

Emergency crews rushed to Station Road in Herne Bay after they were alerted to concerns for the man’s welfare.

An air ambulance was also scrambled and landed in the nearby Memorial Park.

The man was found with serious injuries outside St Mary’s Court and treated at the scene for 45 minutes.

He was then put onto a stretcher and wheeled 500 yards from the private property to the park, with police escorting paramedics along the route.

More details of the incident at 5.45pm yesterday have emerged this morning, with police releasing a statement saying the man is in a critical condition in a London hospital.

A spokesman said: “It was reported a man had jumped from scaffolding on a building in Station Road.

“The man was treated at the scene by Secamb and taken by air ambulance to a London hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.”
