E-fit released by police in hunt for distraction burglars who have targeted homes in Herne Bay

Police are hunting for a pair of Herne Bay burglars who use distraction to enter people's homes and steal cash.

It follows an incident last month when a 60-year-old man in Claremont Street received a knock at his door.

He was greeted by a man who asked if he could borrow a pen and paper to take down some details.

But after the man left the door, the homeowner realised that a cash box containing more than £100 was missing.

He believes a second person entered his home while he was distracted and stole the item.

He has since helped Kent Police to produce a computer generated E fit of one of the suspects.

If you recognise this man call PC Clive Horne on 01843 222040, quoting reference ZY/12613/14. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
