AN INVESTIGATION has been launched by Kent Police after a pedestrian died following a collision with a bus.

The tragedy, involving a Stagecoach double decker, happened at around 2.20pm on Thursday outside the Evergreen Drycleaners in Herne Bay High Street. Police say the victim, believed to be a man in his mid-70s, fell from the pavement.

PC Paul Squire, of the Kent Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit, is appealing for witnesses to contact him.

Investigators are particularly keen to speak to any passengers who may have been on the bus at the time but who did not give their details to police officers.

Anyone who can assist the investigation is asked to call the unit on 01622 600970.
