Herne Bay: Man arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary after Claybrooks jewellers raided

A man has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary after a jewellery shop was raided.

Officers arrested the suspect, 26, yesterday evening following the raid at Claybrooks in William Street, Herne Bay earlier this month.

It was reported a man wielding an axe and wearing a balaclava jumped over the counter before fleeing with rings worth thousands of pounds.

The incident happened on Tuesday, July 4 and the man remains in police custody.
