A man has been arrested after the police helicopter was scrambled to hunt for suspected cable thieves.
Officers were called at 10am today to reports that three men were stealing cable from the railway line.
They were seen running onto a nearby farm in Brook Lane.
The chopper was called to help with the search.
A police spokesman said: "A man aged in his 20s from Herne Bay was arrested on suspicion of theft and is currently in police custody.
"The search and helicopter was stood down around 12.15pm.
"British Transport Police will be investigating."
The police helicopter is now in Margate as it is helping to search for a missing man, which is unrelated to the suspected theft.
