Police helicopter searches for driver after collision in Albion Lane, Herne

A police helicopter was scrambled to Herne today after a driver fled from a crash in the village.
The collision happened in Albion Lane at 11.30am and is believed to have involved a Citroen and an Audi.
A woman driving one of the cars suffered minor injuries and the road was closed during the incident. It was re-opened just after 1.30pm.

The helicopter was sent up to look for the driver of the other car.
Police spokesman Adam Westgarth said: "Officers at the scene were unable to locate the occupant of one of the vehicles and a local area search is on-going with assistance from the police helicopter."
