Herne Bay Tandoori cordoned off by police

A man was taken to hospital with head injuries after an assault at a high street takeaway.

Police taped off Herne Bay Tandoori yesterday and up to four patrol cars were seen outside the shop, which specialises in Bangladeshi food.

A police spokesman said officers were called at 5.50pm to reports a man had been assaulted in a restaurant in Herne Bay High Street.

They said: "Officers attended the scene and the victim was taken to hospital with injuries to his head. These are not believed to be serious.

"No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."
