HOWLETTS & PORT LYMPNE WILD ANIMAL PARKS
Discover two of the wildest days out in Kent at Howletts Wild Animal Park, near Canterbury and Port Lympne Wild Animal Park and Gardens, near Hythe - World leaders in the breeding and conservation of rare and endangered species.
The parks are home to over 1000 animals and still adhere to John Aspinall’s original dream to breed rare and endangered animals and when possible return them to safe and protected areas in the wild. Howletts and Port Lympne in conjunction with The Aspinall Foundation are devoted to continuing his legacy.

Howletts
Howletts Wild Animal Park, Nr Canterbury, is set in 90 acres of beautiful parkland and is home to the largest group of captive bred Western Lowland gorillas in the world and the largest herd of African elephants in the UK. Glass fronted enclosures enable you to get just whiskers away from tigers, and you can now walk alongside lemurs! Couded leopards, monkeys, small cats, tapirs, and wolves are among many other species that can be seen... fascinating and fun for all ages.
Port Lympne
Port Lympne Wild Animal Park, Nr Hythe, is set in 600 acres and incorporates the historic mansion and landscaped gardens with spectacular views of Romney Marsh. It also houses the largest breeding herd of black rhino outside Africa as well as African elephants, Siberian and Indian tigers, small cats, monkeys, Malayan tapirs, Barbary lions and many more rare and endangered species.
Exciting features at Port Lympne include the 'African Experience' safari, where animals roam free as if on the plains of Africa. Climb aboard our specially commissioned safari trucks and see rhino, giraffe, zebra and wildebeest. Stop off en route at the Discovery Zone and explore the diversity of the habitats of many reptiles and insects from around the globe.
Enjoy an 'out of Africa' experience with an overnight stay at Livingstone Safari Lodge. Imagine waking up to the sounds of the Serengeti as the sun rises over the plains. Zebra and wildebeest graze quietly, watched intently by rhino, giraffes, ostrich and a host of other beasts as they welcome a new day.
