VW Passat 'bumped' into Citroen C2 three times in Red Lion Square, Hythe

A car was repeatedly rammed in a suspected road rage row at a busy junction.

The crash between a black Citroen C2 and a grey VW Passat took place in Red Lion Square, Hythe, at 4.35pm on Friday.

Police say the driver of the Citroen was waiting to pull out of the High Street and onto the A259 Dymchurch Road but was held back due to heavy traffic in both directions.

PC Peter Wilcoxon said: "The driver of the VW Passat behind the Citroen reportedly drove into the back of it twice.

"The driver of the Citroen got out of her car and challenged the driver of the VW Passat.

"The Passat driver then reportedly bumped into her car a third time."

Both cars then drove towards Folkestone.

The driver of the Passat is described as being an older man with a beard.

PC Wilcoxon said: "I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact Kent Police.

"In particular I would like to hear from a woman who was driving a light blue VW Beetle that was behind the Citroen and Passat as she could have important information for our inquiry."
