A man has been charged with causing his seven-year-old son's death after a crash in Saltwood last year.

Abdul Mosa, 42, of Leeds in West Yorkshire, is accused of causing Alin Mosa's death by dangerous driving in the crash on the A20 Ashford Road near Hythe at around 9.30am on August 29 last year.

Mosa, of Woodbridge Lawn, is also charged with four counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He is due before Canterbury magistrates on March 13.

The crash happened when Mosa's grey Kia Soul collided with a DAF lorry.

He was driving the car with his wife, two sons aged seven and six and his one-year-old daughter as passengers.

Alin was pronounced dead at the scene.

The lorry driver, and the other occupants of the Kia, including Mr Mosa, were all taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A post mortem examination on September 2, at Ashford's William Harvey Hospital, confirmed the boy had died of multiple injuries.

His six-year-old brother and 17-month-old sister were seriously injured in the crash.
