Fire ladder used for Romanian trucker suffering suspected stroke in cab at Stop 24 at the M20 Junction 11

Firefighters were called to get lorry driver with a suspected stroke down from his cab.

The Romanian was taken ill while parked at the Stop 24 services at the M20’s Junction 11 at 10.30pm yesterday.

He was sat high up in his cab so fire crews were needed to use their ladder and platform to get him down.

They eased him out of the lorry on a spinal board and paramedics took over, taken him into the ambulance on a stretcher.

The victim, aged about 60, was then taken to hospital.

Two fire engines were called out, from the Folkestone and Hythe stations.
