MP Damian Collins and predecessor Lord Howard of Lympne to attend Hythe Remembrance ceremony

Past and present MPs for Hythe are expected to lay wreaths at the town's Remembrance Sunday ceremony this year.

The present Folkestone and Hythe MP Damian Collins will take part on November 9 along with his predecessor Michael Howard, now Lord Howard of Lympne.

Also there with Hythe Mayor Alan Smith and ex-servicemen from Belgium and France.

A total of 60 groups are expected to attend including the Royal British Legion, the Royal Naval and Royal Marines Associations, the RNLI and the Military Wives Choir and Hythe Civic Society.

Organisations taking part in the parade should assemble at 10.15am on the south bank of the Royal Military Canal near the bandstand.

One arrival markers should report to the marshall, Jason Smith. The parade will move off at about 10.20pm to the War Memorial along the south bank of the canal.

After the service it will re-assemble with the marshall in the High Street outside the Auction Shop with the rest of the parade forming in Bank Street.

It will be dismissed in the High Street between Theatre Street and Douglas Avenue.
Mayor Alan Smith will take the salute at the town hall.

Representatives of organisations taking part should attend the War Memorial in The Grove at 5.45pm on Friday, November 7, for a rehearsal.
