Hythe man Christopher Hatcher remanded by Medway magistrates over sex attack along Royal Military Canal footpath

A man charged with a sex attack in Hythe has been remanded in custody.

Christopher Hatcher, 30, of Dymchurch Road, Hythe, appeared before Medway magistrates today accused of sexual assault, kidnap, false imprisonment, outraging public decency and robbery.

The alleged victim - who is in her 20s - is said to have been attacked as she walked along the Royal Military Canal footpath close to Seabrook Road.

It was reported to police at just after 7.30am on Sunday, June 22.

Hatcher is now due to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on August 4.
