Hythe: Police shut A259 Prospect Road outside Waitrose after car hits bus stop

Three people have been taken to hospital after a car left the road and ploughed into a bus stop outside a supermarket.

Police were called just after 11am to reports of the crash near the Waitrose supermarket on the A259 Prospect Road.

A blue Citroen Berlingo was travelling towards Dymchurch when it collided with a Vauxhall Astra - which was travelling in the same direction - and the bus stop.

She said: "It looked as if the blue car had gone into the bus stop quite solidly.

"The car is a write-off and the whole bus shelter is shattered.
