Hythe Town visit Hastings United this weekend looking for their first win in Ryman League Division 1 South

Tim Dixon returns to the dugout this weekend with his Hythe Town side still searching for their first league win of the season.

Dixon has been out of the country for the last two weeks and during that time the Cannons have picked up just one point from three games in Ryman League Division 1 South.

A last-minute equaliser denied them victory over Corinthian Casuals on Saturday and that 1-1 draw followed defeats against South Park and Herne Bay.

But assistant manager Darren Beale, who’s been deputising for Dixon, insisted: "We’re playing well.

"We were the better side in the first half against Herne Bay and for the 90 minutes on Saturday.

"It’s just pure frustration because we need our first win and it should have come on Saturday.

"We need to get that winning mentality and kick on. We’re not hitting the panic button.

"We’re playing well and lost games through our own fault.

"If you come up against a decent side and they play better than you, you can hold your hands up and say you’ve been beaten by the better side but we couldn’t say that in either game.

"We’ve not been good ourselves and created our own problems."
