Hythe Town boss Sam Denly on the race to catch Walton Casuals for a play-off spot

Hythe boss Sam Denly says all the pressure is on Walton Casuals in the race for the final Bostik South play-off place.

With five games to go, the top-five looks unlikely to change while Hythe are seven points clear of eighth-placed Whyteleafe.

They trail Casuals by four points ahead of a weekend which brings huge games for both clubs.

Hythe go to third-placed Greenwich Borough on Saturday while Casuals, in sixth, host Carshalton in a game which could see the Robins go top.

Denly said: "There's no pressure on us. When I came in, there was a 10-point gap and we've done fantastically well to close that.

"We can go out and enjoy ourselves. We're playing a good brand of football and the shackles are off. The lads can play with freedom and that's what they're doing.

"The pressure really is on Walton. They've got to keep winning to stay up there and we'll do all we can to keep the pressure on them.

"They're the ones we can catch. They dropped two points on Monday and they're the ones within reach.

"We've both got difficult games coming up. If we go to Greenwich and lose and they get a win, it could be an impossible task but if we get a win and they don't, you never know.

"All the time we're winning games, they'll be looking over their shoulder, worrying about us. They'll see 'win, win, win' and we want to keep it interesting.

"If we keep picking up wins, we're going to put pressure on them in the back end of the season.

"It's a massive weekend but every game's like a cup final now. We want to be there come the end of the season so we've got to treat every game as a must-win."

Hythe's unbeaten run now stands at nine games after they won twice over the Easter weekend.

Victory at home to Lewes on Saturday was followed by a 2-1 win away to Denly's old club Herne Bay on Monday.

"It shows we've got a lot of character," Denly said. "It shows the boys are playing for each other, me and the club. They're digging in to grind out these results and we'll keep going.

"It's going to be very difficult to win every game but they're giving it a go.

"We're playing some really good football and the boys are working hard, which is the most important thing.

"It's all right having quality but you've got to be prepared to put that extra yard in, which they're doing. That's why we're getting our rewards."

Jerson Dos Santos completes his five-match ban this weekend while Hythe are monitoring hamstring injuries to Mitchell Dickenson and Charlie Webster.
