Accountants appoint three new partners

ACCOUNTING firm Horwath Clark Whitehill has strengthened its practice with the appointment of three new partners.

The move brings the total number of HCW partners in its Maidstone office - opened in 1988 - and Tunbridge Wells (1999) to six.

Chris Gandon has joined from BDO Stoy Hayward, bringing with him a wealth of experience in client advisory work and will reinforce the firm's core auditing, accounting and taxation services.

Ian Weekes has been promoted to partner. He joined the Maidstone office in 1989 and deals with corporate clients advising on acquisitions and disposals, admission to AIM, succession and audit of AIM-listed companies. As a new partner, he will focus on developing transaction support services for corporates.

Partner Dave May has transferred from the Corporate Finance unit in London in response to continued growth and demand for specialist services in the area of corporate finance. He has been a partner in the London office since 1994.

Managing partner Keith Newman said: "I am delighted that Chris, Ian and Dave have joined as partners in the Kent practice. In the past few years our practice has grown from strength to strength and it was vital that we had the right people in place to continue to grow the firm.

"This is especially the case in relation to corporate finance, where we are increasingly dealing with number of high profile acquisitions, mergers and floatations."
