Barber Efe Yeshibulut to compete in finals of Britain's Best Wet Shave Barber competition

A Deal hairdresser has taken another step closer to being named Britain’s Best Wet Shave Barber.

Enver Yeshibulut, known as Efe, of Kings Barbers Male Grooming in the High Street, was told on Friday that he is the South East Champion. It comes after he competed against 13 others in the regional final at Covent Garden’s Envy Barbers.

Efe, now has to make sure his skills are razor sharp when he competes in the grand final.

On Sunday and Monday, May 22 and 23, he will be pitted against seven other top barbers from across the country at this year’s Barber UK at the NEC in Birmingham.

Efe, who entered for the first time this year, said he is eager to find out the outcome of the national final, and will be practicing hard in the meantime.

“Barbering is my passion in life, and wet shaving is my biggest love.

Having previously worked at two of the best barbershops in London, I like to think I have got what it takes to take on the other finalists – but you can never put in too much work as there is always room for improvement. I’m really pleased to have been crowned regional champion, and am ready and waiting for the main event!”

Mike Taylor, director of the British Barbers’ Association, said: “Men are looking after themselves a lot more and have finally realised that the barber is the best person to cut their hair, rather than a hairdresser.

“There is also a rising demand for hot towel shaves, and salons fail to offer this service.”
