Fifty Canterbury companies to stage networking and showcase event at cricket club

Fifty businesses will have their products and services on display at the city's first Canterbury Business Show.

The event will be staged on Friday, February 27 at Canterbury Cricket Club and this week event organisers met to finalise details of the expert speakers that will hold seminars during the day - and to hear the news that the 50th stand had been booked ensuring that every pitch is taken.

The event is the brainchild of a group of business people led by Mike Bailey of JM Recruitment and Binny Amin, who runs Blean Village Londis.

Mr Bailey said: "We came up with idea of a business show as the perfect way for everyone to show off their wares and services. We wanted to hold the event in Canterbury, as we are all based locally."

The pair are part of a networking group that meet regularly and decided to help boost businesses in the city. (BNI)

Thirty minute seminars on topics varying from business branding, fire safety advice, website design and growing profits will feature on the day.

The majority of the 50 stands will be hosted by businesses, but a small number will promote the work of good causes, including the Kent Air Ambulance, Canterbury Rugby Club and Kent Cricket Club.

Tickets to attend are free but must be registered in advance at canterburybusinessshow.co.uk
