Caesars restaurant owner Virginio Ficetola to open new wine bar at former Three Tuns pub in High Street, Gravesend

Gravesend is well-known for its wide range of pubs, but when it comes to wine bars, there aren’t too many to choose from.

But that is about to change.

Virginio Ficetola, 30, is opening a wine bar in the former Three Tuns pub, in High Street, and wants to offer customers something different to their local pubs and bars.

He said: “There aren’t many places like this around here, it’s mostly pubs.

“But some people want to talk to their friends, enjoy a glass of wine and relax. They don’t want to hear loud music.”

Mr Ficetola, a Neapolitan who moved to England 11 years ago, also runs Caesars restaurant in King Street, with his business partner Massimo Napoliello and has been working in the industry for the past decade.

The name of the wine bar is yet to be decided but he is hoping it will open next month.

As well as a wide choice of red and white wines from across the world there will also be food for people to tuck in to.

He said: “What I want to do is offer a few cocktails and some good bottles of wine.

“People will also be able to have finger food which will be like an Italian tapas. It’s going to be something different for the area.

“I’m thinking of calling the bar Prosecco but I’m not 100% sure yet.”
