APC Technology's revenues up to £14.5m as Strood-company see strong growth in first half of 2015

An electronic components distributor has seen strong financial growth across the group over the last six months, as they reveal their interim figures.

APC Technology’s group revenue is up 19% to £14.5 million, compared to £12.1 million in the first half of 2014.

The Strood-based firm’s gross profits have also increased, up 16% to £5.2m, indicating a solid start to the year.

APC has acquired and launched a series of bill-cutting companies in recent years, however the success of the last six months largely can be put down to the group’s sustainability-related business, Minimise Group, and their electronic component distribution business - Advanced Power Components.

Minimise Group’s revenue is up 41% to £8.3 million, and the Power Components side remains flat at £6.2 million.

APC Technology’s statement reflects that they feel the strengthening of the management team has been a contributor to these numbers, with the appointment of Richard Hodgson as CFO and Andrew Shortis becoming managing director of the Minimise Group.

Since September it has acquired water hygiene control business Green Compliance and established Minimise Water, taking the company into water management.

Mark Robinson, chief executive, said: “The first half has been a period of further progress and expansion for the group. There has been a great deal of investment to support the board’s longer-term growth strategy and we’re already starting to see strong sales to support this approach, which should provide investors with reassurance that the Group is moving in the right direction.

“With the acquisition of Green Compliance, the establishment of Minimise Generation, the deepening and diversification of our customer base and the impressive sales we’re already starting to achieve, the future of our end-to-end sustainability-related offering looks bright.

"I’m confident that the foundations are now being laid in the right way to support dramatically improved profitability in the near future.”
