Plans approved for 300 homes in Edenbridge

Work is due to start on 300 homes after plans were approved by councillors.

House builder Bellway will deliver one and two-bedroom apartments and a series of two to five-bedroom houses on land west of Enterprise Way and St John’s Way in Edenbridge.

Set to be known as Oakley Park, the first homes are due to be finished in spring next year, with construction starting imminently.

The developer, which was given outline planning for the scheme last year, will contribute £1.5 million to the council’s community infrastructure levy.

It will also create an open public space within the housing estate.

Sales director for Bellway Kent, Mark Harrop, said: “We are delighted to have secured planning permission for Oakley Park, which will become a flagship development for our Kent division.

“For a landmark site like this, it is important that we are providing homes for buyers at different stages in their lives and with differing requirements.

“There will be homes here which will appeal to first-time buyers, families, downsizers and commuters, who can access central London by train in about 50 minutes.

“We are pleased to be helping to meet the demand for homes across Kent and hope we can provide the local community with a development which will become a real asset to the area.”
