A solicitors practice has completed its third takeover in four years for an undisclosed sum.

Hatten Wyatt, based in Gravesend, has acquired Pengelly & Rylands in Tenterden in a deal which will create a team of 10 partners when it comes into effect on August 1.

The law firm took over Morlings in 2013, which retains its office in Maidstone, and incorporated the firms Nigel Edwards & Company in 2014 and Church Bruce in 2008.

The combined practices now have more than 60 staff across three offices, as well as an associated office in New Dehli.

Senior partner Jasvinder Singh Gill said: “We are delighted to announce the incorporation of Pengelly & Rylands within the firm.

“The two practices work to the same set of values and ideals, and it is a time of great excitement for us.

“The business is continually growing and we felt this was an excellent opportunity to expand further into Kent.

“Pengelly & Rylands are a well-established and respected legal practice offering high-quality client care and we all feel that there is a natural synergy between our firms.

“We can now be unified in our ability to provide a greater remit of legal services to the communities within Kent.”
