Swale Heating wins £350,000 London social housing contract

A heating company has won a £350,000 contract to install boilers across south east London for a firm which repairs and looks after social housing.

Swale Heating, based in Sittingbourne, will supply 150 homes in the captial run by Mears Group over six months.

The company is looking to recruit more than 30 staff to help grow the business, which has a workforce of more than 450 working across London, the Home Counties, East Anglia and the Midlands.

It needs engineers, electricians, plumbers, accounts and administration staff to cope with an upsurge in business, which has seen it service domestic heating customers in more than 125,000 homes, as well as over 35 housing associations and local authorities.

Contracts director Stuart Davis said: “This contract was won after a competitive tender so we’re delighted to be working with Mears in delivering this programme of boiler installations.

“All the surveys have been commenced and the installations work will start in the near future.”

“This is the first time we have worked with Mears and I hope it’s the start of a long and successful relationship between the two companies.”

The company is running a promotion in London, led by an extensive TV advertising campaign.

Sales director Matthew Edwards added: “Gas service and maintenance engineers are needed for an immediate start to service customers located throughout the region. We’re looking for skilled and highly-motivated staff who can play a vital role in our continued expansion.”
