A luxury ice cream maker is branching out with the launch of a kitchenware range.

Simple Ice Cream, which manufacturers its products in Bonnington, near Ashford, has begun selling bowls, teacups and portable cool bags.

Its hand-painted crockery range is embossed with the company logo and sky-blue colour.

Managing director Sally Newall said: “We have put a lot of time into the design of this range to make sure that it complements our luxury artisan brand.

"The bowls are designed for ice cream as the chunky ceramic helps to maintain the temperature keeping ice cream cool, or soup hot.

“Since 2008 we have built up a wonderful base of loyal Simply Ice Cream fans, people that love rich indulgent handmade ice cream, really like the luxury high cream content flavour of our range.

"It was through the suggestions of customers at shows and events suggesting a kitchenware range that led us to create a really unusual range.”
