Kent Crisps launches ham and mustard flavour

A crisps maker has added some more meat to its range with a new flavour.

Kent Crisps, based in Manston Park, near Ramsgate, has launched a ham and mustard packet after teaming up with Pork & Co, a restaurant in Canterbury which serves free range and rare breed pork.

Managing director Laura Bounds, who became owner of the company last April, said: “We’ve been listening to our consumers and our research has shown us that whilst other producers are coming up with weird and wonderful flavours, our customers enjoy a more traditional flavour.”

Sam Deeson, who owns Pork & Co, added: “As a pork enthusiast it was an exciting opportunity to work with Laura and her team on developing this new flavour to add to the Kent Crisps range.

“We are confident that the extensive process we’ve gone through will be a hit with crisp lovers everywhere.”

The new flavour, which is gluten and dairy free, will be available from February in Southern Coop stores across Kent, Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire, plus selected Waitrose and independent, pubs, farm shops and delis across the UK.

Ms Bounds added: “I am so grateful to have had the help of Sam who is a real connoisseur when it comes to pork.

“We are now looking forward to launching our ham and mustard flavour which is likely to be our next best seller.”
