Tender deadline nears for Calverley Grounds' former bowls pavilion in Tunbridge Wells

Firms wanting to win the contract to refurbish the Calverley Grounds pavilion in Tunbridge Wells have until Friday to bid.

Tunbridge Wells Borough Council put the deal out to tender in March and the closing dates for quotes is tomorrow, April 20.

Previously a bowls pavilion, it sits close to the former bowling green which is being converted into an outdoor play area.

The council wants bids from firms to enable the building to be used for a future, unspecified, purpose.

Potential options include a café, storage facility, or space for hire for private or local groups and clubs.

Once agreed, work is expected to commence over the space of two months later this summer.
