Winter Paralympian Millie Knight to speak at Kent B2B show

Winter Paralympian and downhill skiing world champion Millie Knight will be the headline speaker at Kent's longest-running business exhibition.

The 19-year-old, who won two silvers and a bronze at the Paralympic Games in PyeongChang this month, will talk at the Kent B2B event in Ashford in June.

The visually impaired skier from Canterbury will share her story of competing at the games in South Korea.

She started skiing at six years old, the same time she began to lose her eyesight.

She only has 5% peripheral vision and represents ParalympicsGB with sighted guide Brett Wild from the Royal Navy.

Jo James, chief executive of Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce, which runs the event, said: “The chance to welcome Millie to the stage to share a story of determination, adaptability and drive is one we know Kent business people will enjoy and take a lot away from.

"It’s fantastic to have Millie join us so soon after her return from the 2018 games – we look forward to hearing about her experience.”

In its 32nd year, the event takes place at the Ashford International Hotel on June 7.
