Strood-based KCA to merge with Addaction to create leader in recovery services to people with mental health and substance misuse issues

A drug, alcohol and mental health services company is set to merge with a UK-wide provider of substance misuse support for adults and families.

Strood-based KCA wants to join forces with Addaction with the aim of becoming a leader in recovery services to people with mental health and substance misuse issues.

Both organisations are undergoing due diligence on the merger, following the unanimous agreement of both boards of trustees.

Found on Medway City Estate, KCA will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Addaction in January next year, with a transfer of staff taking place in June.

KCA chief executive Ryan Campbell said: “We have worked closely to ensure that we are a great cultural and operational fit, with exciting new areas of expertise coming together which will further our ambition of treating the whole person, not just the problem they present with.”

Addaction chief executive Simon Antrobus said “I am delighted to be able to announce our new shared direction.

“Recovery and a focus on exceptional service delivery is our common goal, with service users at the heart of both charities.”
