Mercedes-Benz submits plans to build showroom at the Bridge in Dartford

Mercedes-Benz wants to build a new car dealership on a former hospital site.

The car retailer has submitted an outline planning application for a new showroom and workshop at the 260-acre Bridge industrial site in Dartford, formerly occupied by the Joyce Green Hospital and Littlebrook Lakes.

Its proposals, put forward with construction group Prologis UK, cover a four-acre area at the eastern end of the development opposite the Sainsbury’s distribution centre.

The application, submitted by JMW Planning, said the site would also include MoT facilities and leave a grassland area for local wildlife.

The plans, on land known as Plot 2 of the Bridge, will create a “landmark” building and become one of the first buildings seen on entering the estate, just over a mile north east of the town centre.
