New trampoline park: Couple plan to turn old packaging factory in Ashford into Flip Out franchise

An old packaging factory is to become the latest outlet of a growing trampoline franchise leap frogging across Kent.

Husband and wife team Lisa and Steve Wootton are investing £1.5 million to launch Flip Out in a 28,000sq ft building on Ashford’s Henwood Industrial Estate.

The pair, who live in Kingsnorth, expect to create up to 60 jobs with the new venture.

It is the second Flip Out opening in Kent, with the other opening in Chatham on Saturday, creating 40 jobs, and follows the launch of trampoline parks in Maidstone and Tonbridge over the last 13 months.

The Ashford site will feature connected trampolines along floors and walls, including zones for stunts, slam dunks, dodgeball, a Ninja warriors course and fitness classes.

Mr and Mrs Wootton pledged it will have free parking for more than 100 vehicles and also plan to develop a cafe.

Mrs Wootton said: “We’re very excited to be bringing the Flip Out trampolining revolution to Ashford.

“Having often taken our two boys to trampoline parks, we wanted to launch our own venue that would be fun, healthy entertainment not just for kids but for the whole family.”

Mr Wootton added: “Ashford is the perfect place for east Kent’s first Flip Out.

"The town is growing rapidly and going through some dynamic changes and we want to be part of that exciting future.

“It’s also our home patch and there’s nothing like this here at the moment. We think Ashford deserves to be part of the Flip Out phenomenon.”

Flip Out originated in Australia in 2012 and now has seven parks and arenas across the UK, with 25 more in the pipeline.
