Young people's business charity Kent Foundation marks 30th anniversary with A Blast! event

The next generation of entrepreneurs showed off their businesses at a networking event celebrating the 30th anniversary of a young people’s charity.

Guests and bosses were told by Kent County Council leader Paul Carter that many firms existed because of the “confidence and skills” provided by the Kent Foundation, which offers mentoring to under 30s running their own business.

Cllr Carter handed out the charity’s first awards at the A Blast! event held at Oakwood House in Maidstone last night.

Prizes went to the Better Body Group, WiseUp Teambuilding, This Art of Mine and Pod+.

Kent Foundation also launched new branding on the night and appealed for more mentors and donors to help the organisation, which fundraises £30,000 a year to run its services.

Director Paul Barron said: “There is not a better job in the world than running this charity but we are always looking for mentors and businesses to help the business people of the future launch their companies.”
