KM Dragon Boat Race an opportunity for business teambuilding

Now in its eighth year, the KM Dragon Boat Race has become a fixture on the calendar of businesses looking for a teambuilding day out.

Kent Reliance enjoyed it so much it has become its headline sponsor for a second straight year, pledging £4,500.

Teams of 11 will take to the waters around Mote Park in Maidstone on Sunday, July 3, in a bid to be crowned champion and raise money for their chosen charity.

More than £400,000 has been raised since the event was first staged.

The KM Dragon Boat Race is among more than a dozen adrenaline events staged throughout the year by the KM Charity Team, including the annual KM Charity Walk and KM Assault Course Challenge.

Robert Gurr, communications manager at Kent Reliance, said: “We are delighted to once again be headline sponsor of the KM Dragon Boat Race.

“Kent Reliance has been actively involved in the local community for 150 years and this year Demelza is one of our key charities so our crew will take part in the big race to raise funds for the children’s hospice.”
