A cafe which started life as a market stall on London's Brick Lane has just agreed to move into a 2,500sq ft restaurant in Bluewater.

Rosa's Thai Cafe agreed the deal for the plaza with the shopping complex's co-owner, Landsec.

Robert Hardie, portfolio director at Landsec, said: “Guests at Bluewater have told us for some time that they would like to see Thai cuisine offered as part of our dining options. We have seen strong demand for space in the plaza and we know Rosa’s Thai Cafe will be a popular addition. We’re looking forward to them opening their doors later this year.”

Gavin Adair, managing director at the cafe added: “Opening a branch at Bluewater will be an exciting expansion for our highly in-demand cuisine. London was a great starting point for us to offer our authentic and sustainably sourced dishes, but we wanted to reach out to an even wider market. We’re delighted to be bringing an entirely new type of cuisine to Bluewater, which we view as one of the UK’s leading retail and leisure destinations.”

The restaurant currently 13 outlets - all in London.

First started as a market stall in 2007, it had moved into its first permanent premises within two years and grown rapidly subsequently.
